In the last years Intel already has brought some movement into the market by launching their low-priced Mini-ITX Mainboards (D201GLY2(A), D945GCLF(2)) but now again is starting a new revolution with a new generation of mainboards.

The power consumption of the new Intel „Half-Height“ mainboard, when comparing to his bigger brothers, has been reduced from over 30W to below 20W. This has been achieved by using the new Mobile Atom CPU which can be operated with passive cooling. And in addition Intel has managed to reduce the height to an outstanding 2 cm. This will lead to new generation of Small form factor systems with high feature density in a very small room.

But also when it comes to extension possibilities Intel has brought in some new ideas. There optionally will be available two new modules :
- Mini-PCI-express GPRS/UMTS–modul with integriated WLAN
- USB SSD modul as HDD substitutio for integration on the internal USB connector
Both modules can be installed without increasing the overall height of 2 cm .

Notes:
- The board can be powered directly from an AC/DC adapter.
- For vehcile-operation you can use the "DC/DC converter for Intel D945GSEJT".
- The board comes with a standard I/O Full height ATX rear plate.

Build myself a cheap flexible Linux Debian, Fanless-Ultra Low Power(13W!!)-No Noise TorrentBox/Nas/Mediastreamer with Intel Desktop Board D945GSEJT, DIMM SO-DDR-2 2048MB, M350 Mini-ITX enclosure, AC Power adapter (12V, 60W) & AC Power adapter (12V, 60W) with a low power 1TB WD 2.5 scorpio Blue HD (with room for another HD). Google for lots of info about these and similar low-power builds.

Das Mainboard wurde gut verpackt und zügig geliefert. Die aktuellen Treiber sollten direkt von der Intel-Seite geholt werden. Bei einem Betrieb ohne Tastatur empfiehlt sich ein BIOS-Update. Hierzu unter Windows einfach eine exe starten, booten und abwarten. Der Audiotreiber benötigt vorab den Patch kb888111. Ansonsten läuft das Board bei mir als Musikserver, das Betriebssystem (XP) langweilt sich dabei zu Tode und die Kühlkörper sind unter diesen Bedingungen weit davon entfernt, mit einem Papst Bekanntschaft zu machen. Für meine Zwecke ist das D945GSEJT ideal.

Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Vor allem wenn man nicht die Einzelartikel sondern das Gesamtpaket betrachtet. Board passt gut in MHero-S Gehäuse. Eingesetzt als Media- und Telefonanlagen-Server (Non-Stop-Betrieb 24hx365Tage/Jahr) mit minmalem Energiebedarf. TOP

I get mine board few days ago for a specefic application.
I have installed Windows Seven on it and it's works Great.
If you need more processor power take the Intel D510MO.
