The Atom-CPU is a perfect basis for a low-cost system. It works very energy saving and therfor is perfect for mobile usage. But also can be used as a server, Car-PC or Multimedia solutions.

Atom-CPU mainly was developed for the upcoming „Mobile Internet Devices“ (MID), which are fielded between notebooks and cell phones. „The processors were equipped in 45nm production with the worlds smallest transistors“, said Intels Vice President Sean Maloney.

kleines Motherboard, 17x17cm, viele schnittstellen (IDE/SATA/Lan100/USB2/VGA/parallel/Sound/PCI). Prozessor Passiv gekühlt, Bridge mit 40mm Lüfter. Dieser macht deutlich zu viel Lärm (hohe Umdrehungen, schlechter Lüfter). Dazu leider nicht wie der Systemlüfter über BIOS regelbar (?!!). Läuft immer volllast. Stromverbrauch OK, Motherboard + DVD-Laufwerk + 250 GB IDE + 1000der PCI-LANkarte ungf. 40W, Start ungf. 47W

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,

gleich nach Inbetriebnahme mußte ich feststellen,daß das Bios neu geflasht werden mußte(USB-Bus Fehlermeldungen).Nach dem neuen Bios läuft die Hauptplatine recht stabil unter Windows(XP) und Linux.Nur Ubuntu 8.02 läßt sich nicht ohne weiteres installieren.Der Atom 1.6 Ghz Prozessor ist sogar HT-fähig!
Aus den Zeitschriften habe ich außerdem erfahren,daß ein Intel Mainboard mit Atom DualCore-Prozessor fällig ist.Sollte dies der Fall sein, bitte benachrichtigen Sie mich rechtzeitig!
