Hey folks.
In general I am missing a short form advice guide to us new Car-PC users..
Planning to install a InDash CarPC V2 Barebone (incl. VIA M10000 + M1-ATX) - and a toutch screen.
I already got a lot of question about handeling a Car-PC,, My purpose is to use it as a base for my engine mannagement system.. and there for need to have a system that will startup fairly quickly - I can see that it promise 2 sek to get up running/playing a CD or DVD but what about Windows ?? .. Normaly Bill Gates use the boot time to make and eat his breakfast !!..
I will be happy ot hear form some of you about your system ( XP WIN2K or ? ) how long boot time you have ?..
Thanks Peter

i´ve got a boottime about 27sec.
counted time: push the "on"-button ----- hear the first sound
you can save much time if you start the pc by hilbernate -->run
no drivers has to load and so on.
some usb devices dont like this start but have a try.
with best regards

With WinME you can experience an amazing boot time of less than 15 seconds

Ok - then..
Is it possibel to use the remote door lock / Imobiliser ( Alarm ) to startup the Car-PC instead of the ignition to make the Car -PC startup as soon as I unloock the door's, and again make auto-shutdown when I lock the door's again ??.. Think that would be a nice feature to add - and maby also easy to emplement..
Thanks Peter
