I have an M3-ATX power supply in my car. In my audio I can hear the engine whine.
How do I fix this? I searched the forum and obliviously I connected the power supplies - to the car chassis.

An adapter like http://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/791 can help.
Otherwise : For testing, did you powered the system already from outside the car ? (from other power source).

Yes, Didn't have the problem when I powered the system on a normal pc power outside my car.
The noise I hear is sounds like it is coming from the engine, as the pitch increases as the engine RPM increases.
Such an adapter sounds good, though I thought the power input to my M3-ATX has to be filtered? I actually thought the M3-ATX itself would filter this out.

I think I will need this if I can't fix the problem by fixing the ground wire: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_003S25A/American-International-S-15A-S-25A-25-amp-350-watt.html?tp=2653

Problem solved, after I disconnected everything and reconnected it everything worked perfect almost without any noise.
I think something was touching the ground somewhere...
