here we are, i stoled some time today to bring the screen in this car, it was not as simple as it could seem...everything is glued on the dashboard and i had a big difficulties to pass the wires so they remain invisible but it was worth.

The single and simple wire you will can see...a simple clean install

Arat pod on which the screen is affixed.

The screen is not a touch screen, i don't need it anymore, i modified my software to be used with the Powermate only as the screen is a bit far from driver's seat, still no keyboard and it won't be anyway.

Took off rear seats to have space to pull the wires

Getting rid of the stereo

The place where the power amp is now Smile

power amp can't be seen anymore from inside or outside, next week it'll be the computer's turn et voilà a nice stealth install.

Now building the part needed to replace the car radio and drive the whole computer with a simple Powermate...

I used an old home dvd player face i cutted in two parts to get something regular on both sides, some more work to do with this and hopefully the final result will be simple and elegant. This thing have to be ready for sunday when i'll mount the computer in the car.

Wow it's very delayed between my postings but i have no choice, i have a lot of work aside of this realisation.

After many adjustments, the faceplate is now ready, i just finished primer coat.
It shoudl be finished hopefully today for this part, tomorrow inserting the computer aboard et voilà Smile

Finished faceplate.

If it was for me i wouldn't do it in green but it's not my car Smile!

Glossy chromed plexiglass to add depth effect, i also added chrome pins, so one Powermate and no more need of headunit.

I had to add light and contrast on pics as they were really difficult to pull off the very dark inside of the car or my camera is maybe definitely dying Undecided

if you want to see other functions, have a look at my bmw e39 project or my porsche project.

Hallo Darph.

Fedora's+Mandriva's bits and pieces + tuned 2.6.x vanilia kernel and some other things changed like different scripts, voice synthesis, bluetooth, gprs, fm etc.
For navigation i'm using Navigator which runs fine with linux Smile
