Hi,
I have a little question and I'm wondering if anyone knows the answer.
I'm thinking of buying the NL-409TE GPS receiver.
http://cartft.com/catalog/il/627
I want to connect it to my CarPC with the USB connectorcable.
http://cartft.com/catalog/il/93
According to the specifications of the manufacturer, this GPS consumes about 980mA of power.
But a standard USB port can only deliver 500mA. So, there is a problem...
Does this GPS only uses the USB for data and is there another power cable?
Looking at the picture of the USB convertor, I only see the USB port.
Does anyone know how this GPS gets powered?
Cheers,
Johan.

Thanks for the fast reply.
The NL 309 TE also consumes 980mA/5V, so if this works, the 409 should work too. :-)
Seems a little strange to me, but I'll try it anyway.
Cheers,
Johan.

Gentlemen,
you are right, simply use the Y USB cable to increase the current output required by the device.
